Job summary

Baptist Health in Paducah, KY is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to manage patient flow, perform scans, and assist physicians. Start times vary 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM depending on department needs.

This PRN / 8-hour shift role requires technical expertise and independent judgment in radiology and nuclear medicine procedures. You will maintain records, coordinate with radiologists, ensure safety standards, and utilize EPIC daily while supporting technologists and clinicians in delivering

Qualifications

• Technical diploma in radiologic technology.
• CNMT and/or ARRT(N), and BLS required by KY Board.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily patient flow and coordinate exam assignments.
• Perform nuclear medicine procedures with minimal supervision.
• Apply prescribed ionizing radiation and other energy safely.
• Maintain records and charting for each case.
• Collect patient histories and coordinate with radiologists.
• Produce quality images following department protocols.
• Provide immobilization and protection per safety standards.
• Monitor patients continuously during exams.
• Assist radiologist with exams and invasive procedures as needed.
• Effectively use the EPIC system and support radiology team.
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals under radiologist directions.

Start times will vary between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM, depending on department needs.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the department supervisor, will oversee the daily flow of patients through the department and coordinate daily exam assignments.
• perform nuclear medicine procedures at a technical level requiring minimal supervision of technical detail.
• Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation and other forms of energy.
• Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
• Responsible for all records and charting of information related to individual cases.
• Collects patient histories and other related information, coordinating and communicating with the radiologist and all others as needed.
• Follows department protocols and produces quality images for each exam.
• Provides immobilization as required and protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
• Continuously monitors the patient through the exam.
• Assist Radiologist with exam when necessary and with invasive procedures
• Effectively uses the EPIC
• Assists physicians in performance of Nuclear and PET examinations by preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals under the directions of a radiologist.
