Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking a Radiology/Nuclear Medicine technologist to prepare and render radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic studies at our Summit, NJ location. You will work under physician direction to calculate and administer doses, calibrate equipment, and perform imaging procedures with scanners and scintillation cameras.

The role requires an NJDEP nuclear medicine license and ARRT/NMTCB/CAMRT certification.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Current NJDEP nuclear medicine license.
  • Registration or certification by ARRT, NMTCB, or CAMRT

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and render radiopharmaceuticals for imaging and therapy.
  • Calibrate and operate imaging equipment.
  • Perform diagnostic studies using scanners or scintillation cameras.
  • Measure radioactivity with Geiger counters and detectors.
  • Administer therapeutic doses under physician direction.
  • Follow radiation safety protocols and proper disposal procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Responsible for preparing and rendering radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing variety of equipment while following prescribed procedures

Principal Accountabilities
  • Mixes stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses, under direction of physician.
  • Calibrates equipment.
  • Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by physician, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce image of organ on photographic film.
  • Measures radioactivity, using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.
  • Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician.
  • Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • HS Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Current license with the NJDEP in nuclear medicine
  • Registration or certification by ARRT, NMTCB, or CAMRT
Relevant Experience
  • 1+ years preferred
  • Employment history of working in an office- based setting is preferred

About The Team

Atlantic Health System's radiology departments provide state‑of‑the‑art imaging services that can accommodate a wide range of patient needs with the highest quality and safety. In fact, many of our locations meet image gently recommendations, meaning we "child-size" radiation doses for pediatric patients. Our medical team features board‑certified, fellowship‑trained radiologists, who specialize in breast imaging, cross‑sectional imaging, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, muscular‑skeletal imaging, pediatric imaging, and interventional radiology. Highly skilled technologists and registered radiology nurses provide additional expertise and support.
