PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. Join an experienced imaging team in a supportive rural hospital environment with opportunities to work independently while collaborating with radiologists and clinicians.

This role includes full scope Nuclear Medicine procedures, including generator elution, radiopharmaceutical preparation, quality control, image acquisition, and patient care.

Qualifications

• Accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology is required.
• Certification CNMT or ARRT-N is required or acceptable.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Venipuncture competency demonstrated.
• Minimum 1 year prior experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures.
• Operate equipment for data acquisition, reconstruction, and imaging with QC.
• Prepare, calibrate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals per protocol.
• Maintain records of receiving, dispensing, disposal of radioactive materials and QC activities.
• Perform other patient care activities as assigned per scope of practice and licensure.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

You'll have the opportunity to work independently while collaborating closely with radiologists, physicians, and fellow imaging professionals.

Unlike many larger metro facilities, this role allows you to practice the full scope of Nuclear Medicine, including generator elution, radiopharmaceutical preparation, quality control, image acquisition, and patient care.

Candidates with experience in an additional imaging modality are highly encouraged to apply.

What you’ll do

• Perform all routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures by integrating medical knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and accurate diagnostic information.
• Operate computer and nuclear medicine equipment for data acquisition, reconstruction, and documentation of images and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
• Prepares, calibrates, and administers radiopharmaceuticals according to protocol.
• Maintain records of receipt, dispensing, and disposal of radioactive materials. Maintain records of equipment quality control, radiation monitoring, and surveys.
• Performs other patient care activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned consistent with caregiver’s scope of practice, training, experience, and license/certification/registration.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
