Job summary

Cardiology Associates of New Brunswick (CANB) is seeking a full-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist for our new location in Old Bridge, New Jersey. The technologist will perform advanced nuclear medicine imaging under physician supervision, ensure test validity, calibrate equipment, and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualified applicants graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program, hold a NJ state license, and have ARRT and/or NMTCB certification; BLS

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Must possess a current NJ State license.
  • ARRT and/or NMTCB certification.
  • BLS certification required

Responsibilities

  • Assists the nuclear physician(s) with the implementation of special imaging procedures.
  • Abides by standards established by the facility, state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Assures that all tests are performed properly and test results are valid and accurate prior to the release of the patient.
  • Calibrates the dose calibrator and performs QC procedures on gamma cameras per departmental protocols and notifies the lead tech of any malfunctions/issues promptly.
  • Explains the procedure to the patient clearly including wait times and performs the procedure assuring maximum comfort to the patient.
  • Performs all hot lab related functions such as receiving, using and discarding of radio‑pharmaceuticals following/applying vendor, departmental and DEP rules and regulations strictly.
  • Maintain and clean equipment.
  • Additional duties as required.
