Job summary

The University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures using radioisotope and radiation detection technology.

Under supervision, you will demonstrate clinical competence across general and cardiac studies, prepare radiopharmaceuticals, operate imaging equipment, and collaborate with physicians to ensure accurate diagnostics while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates clinical competence in Nuclear Medicine Technology across inpatient and outpatient populations as prescribed by physicians.
• Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals per established safety protocols.
• Operates nuclear medicine instrumentation and computer systems for image acquisition and processing.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate clinical competence in Nuclear Medicine Technology while performing a full range of general and cardiac studies.
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and adjunct medications per protocols.
• Operate nuclear medicine instrumentation and advanced computer systems to acquire, process, and enhance diagnostic images.
• Provide high‑quality images and data to physicians to support interpretation.
• Adhere to radiation safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EHR systems.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other healthcare staff to ensure patient care.
