Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine school is required.
• Bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine technology or equivalent is preferred.
• State Nuclear Medicine License is required in CA and HI.
• ARRT NM or NMTCB certification is required in CA and OR.
• Venipuncture certification is required in CA and HI.
• ARRT or NMTCB certification for nuclear medicine technologists is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, administers, and measures radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies.
• Calculates doses and prepares stock solutions of radioactive materials for radiologists.
• Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation and documents results.

Nuclear Medicine Diploma/Certificate

Nuclear Medicine BS (preferred)

State Nuclear Medicine License (CA)

ARRT NM or NMTCB Certification (CA/OR)

Venipuncture Certification (CA/HI)

ARRT/NMTCB or equivalent Credential
