Qualifications

  • Graduation from a JCRNMT-approved program.
  • Certification by NMCB or ARRT Nuclear Medicine registration.
  • Equivalent education or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications where allowed by law.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex clinical diagnostic nuclear medicine examinations including lymphoscintigraphy and cardiac perfusion studies.
  • Tailor examinations to individual patients in collaboration with physicians.
  • Provide support and direction to others in the nuclear medicine team.
  • Develop new computer applications in nuclear medicine PET.
  • Create guidelines for radiopharmaceutical use and calibration/dispensing standards.
  • Establish written protocols for new nuclear medicine examinations.
  • Conduct specialized in vitro and in vivo tests and studies.
  • Identify supply needs and locate vendors for specialized materials.
  • Present in-services and train staff on new procedures.

Nuclear Medicine Certification Board
ARRT Nuclear Medicine registration
Equivalent education/experience accepted
