Job summary

Tenet South Carolina is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The role requires evening/night call and carries a $20,000 sign-on bonus paid over two years.

You will work 40 hours per week, with 8-hour shifts, in a staff position. Must hold an associate degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology and be registry eligible with CPR certification; SCRQSA is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program with an Associate degree.
• Registry eligible; registry completed within nine months of employment.
• American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.
• SCRQSA certification required.
• ARRT and/or NMTCB registry preferred.
• Night and weekend call is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals.
• Apply radiation protection principles and patient safety measures.
• Demonstrate proficiency with imaging equipment (PACS, Syntrac, dose calibrator).
• Obtain patient data prior to procedures and explain the process to ease anxiety.
• Accurately measure dosages and comply with exposure precautions.

Job Description & Requirements

Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients of all ages utilizing radiopharmaceuticals.Applies principals of radiation protection. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service. Provides patient care to patients of all ages. Night and weekend call is required. Proficiency in PACS.

• Obtains patient data before procedure - DOB, age, and history. Usually explains procedure to be performed, facilitates patient’s cooperation and alleviates anxiety
• Utilizes proper Radiation Safety with patient, self, and others
• Always demonstrates working knowledge and proficiency with imaging equipment, including but not limited to: computers (acquisition and processing), dose calibrator, PACS, and Syntrac system
• Always measures dosage for each patient following correct procedures; observes established precautions against overexposure
• Performs related duties as required.

Required:

• Education: Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program with an Associate degree or equivalent required.
• Certifications/Registrations/Licenses:
  • Must be registry eligible.
  • Registry completed with nine (9) months of employment.

• Experience: Up to 1 year experience is required, 1 to 2 years preferred
