MedSmart is a premier outsourced healthcare and diagnostic radiology company serving facilities in the Las Vegas valley. We seek a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to independently operate scintillation camera systems and report results for diagnostic studies.

Responsibilities include preparing radiopharmaceuticals, operating advanced imaging equipment, maintaining QA and EHR/PACS documentation, and collaborating with radiologists for accurate interpretation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Nuclear Medicine program with registration.
• Current BLS, ARRT, NMTCB certifications required.
• Able to take call/standby as needed.
• Minimum of one year recent experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging such as PET, SPECT.
• Operate gamma cameras, PET/CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy with safety protocols.
• Position patients to optimize image quality while ensuring comfort.
• Perform X-ray, CT, mammography, DEXA and interventional radiology procedures.
• Manage EHR and PACS to document procedures accurately.
• Maintain aseptic technique to prevent infection and ensure safety.
• Educate patients and address concerns throughout imaging experience.
• Collaborate with radiologists and physicians for accurate interpretation.
• Ensure equipment safety and radiation protection standards.
• Stay updated on NM tech advances to improve service quality.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for the independent operation of a scintillation camera, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic Nuclear Medicine examinations. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for daily operations of the Nuclear Medicine Department, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). The Nuclear Medicine Technologist maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging procedures such as PET scans, SPECT, and other nuclear medicine tests.
• Operate sophisticated imaging equipment including gamma cameras, PET/CT scanners, MRI machines, and fluoroscopy units with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
• Position patients accurately to optimize image quality while ensuring their comfort and safety during procedures.
• Perform various radiologic imaging procedures including X-ray, CT, mammography, DEXA scans, and interventional radiology techniques.
• Manage electronic health records (EHR), Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), and other electronic medical record systems to document procedures accurately.
• Maintain strict aseptic techniques during invasive procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
• Educate patients about procedures, address concerns, and provide compassionate care throughout their imaging experience.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to interpret images accurately for diagnosis or treatment planning.
• Ensure all equipment is operated in compliance with safety standards, including radiation protection measures.
• Keep abreast of advancements in nuclear medicine technology such as MRI enhancements, sonography, and new radiologic techniques to continually improve service quality.

Experience

• Certifications: BLS, ARRT, NMTCB
• Graduate of an accredited school or formal Nuclear Medicine program with registration is required
• Required to take call / standby in Nuclear Medicine and NNMC as needed
• One year recent experience required
