Job summary

UNC Health in Smithfield, NC is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate advanced imaging equipment, and analyze acquired data under supervision.

Typical hours are 7:00am to 3:00pm with rotating on-call. Responsibilities include patient identification, consent, dose preparation, image acquisition, and documentation in RIS/CIS/SMS/PACS, with compliance to Radiation Safety and NRC guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• ARRT in Nuclear Medicine or NMTCB certification or registry-eligible within 1 year of hire.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures and teach accordingly.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals and document dosages and routes.
• Describe exams, obtain informed consent, and input patient data into radiology management systems.
• Maintain and analyze images; ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
• Operate RIS, CIS, SMS, and PACS to generate documentation and charges.
