Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures and to support quality control and safety protocols. Qualifications

• Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine program accredited by either the Joint Review Committee on Education Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
• 1 year of experience required
• AR DMS or ARRT - Nuclear Med Tech Upon Hire Required; CNMT - Certified Nuclear Med Tech CNMT registered Upon Hire Required; NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine Tech NMTCB registered Upon Hire Required; BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine and/or Nuclear Cardiology procedures according to protocols and procedures.
• Demonstrates competence in nuclear medicine exams across age groups and positions patients/equipment.
• Reviews exam requisitions and notes pertinent information.
• Determines quality of radiopharmaceuticals received from suppliers.
• Explains procedures and safety precautions to patients and assists during tests.
• Maintains records/licenses as required by federal/state regulators.
• Maintains proficiency for advanced imaging and post-processing (e.g., Syngo Via).
• Mentors students and junior technologists.
• Ensures department meets regulatory requirements.
