Job summary

AdventHealth is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform imaging procedures, prepare radiopharmaceuticals, and ensure strict quality control. You will collaborate with radiologists to deliver accurate results and patient care.

Job Description:
  • Performs a wide range of Nuclear Medicine procedures, demonstrating proficiency in camera acquisition, computer processing, and adapting to new technology while ensuring high-quality diagnostic imaging.
  • Prepares and administers radionuclides safely and accurately, utilizing aseptic technique, universal blood and body substance isolation (BSI) principles, and explaining procedures to patients.
  • Ensures equipment quality control and evaluates image quality, performing required QC procedures and verifying diagnostic and technical accuracy prior to image release.
  • Identifies patients and verifies exam appropriateness, reviewing physician orders and confirming patient/exam accuracy using approved identification guidelines.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging, timely reporting, and continuity of patient care.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
  • Ability to perform Nuclear Medicine procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail [Required]
  • Knowledge of communication styles and constant deployment of proper engagement behaviors when encountering patients, staff, and physicians [Required]
  • Patient care and communication skills to deal with patients from infant, childhood, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups [Required]
  • Basic clerical skills as needed for filing, record keeping, and documentation [Required]
  • Independent judgment and initiative [Required]
  • Ability to assist in a wide range of duties to ensure the smooth operation of the department [Required]
  • Age-specific care [Required]
  • Ability to learn and use Radiology software packages such as Cerner, Radworks, and Pacs [Required]
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures [Required]
  • Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff [Required]
  • Appropriate technical skills in Nuclear Medicine [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine Technology RT(N)(ARRT) [Required]
  • OR Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)[Required]
Pay Range:

$30.45 - $56.64
