The role emphasizes ALARA principles, communication with patients, and collaboration with Radiology staff to support diagnostic procedures and documentation across RIS and PACS systems.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Must be registered (or registry eligible) in Nuclear Medicine by ARRT and/or NMTCB.
  • If registry eligible, registry must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • Must maintain required hours of CME.
  • Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).

Responsibilities

  • Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for imaging.
  • Gather patient medical history information to optimize diagnostics.
  • Prepare procedure rooms and isotopes for safe administration.
  • Calibrate and operate imaging equipment for Nuclear Medicine scans.
  • Review requisition data and set up equipment for procedures.
  • Assist Radiologist in advanced diagnostic procedures as needed.
  • Complete radiology documentation and RIS entries.
