Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Radiologist to join a collaborative radiology team. You will interpret studies across cardiac, neurologic, and skeletal imaging with opportunities to interpret ultrasound or body imaging based on training.

You will contribute to resident education and participate in tumor boards and interdisciplinary conferences, while enjoying a supportive, patient-centered practice environment and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Nuclear Medicine Radiology.
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Nuclear Medicine fellowship or Radiology/Nuclear Medicine residency (ACGME).
  • Active Washington State medical license, or eligible for licensure.
  • Willingness to interpret ultrasound or body imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Join a collaborative team and participate in multidisciplinary conferences and tumor boards.
  • Clinical education and mentorship of diagnostic radiology residents.
  • Provide comprehensive nuclear medicine imaging with potential for ultrasound/body imaging.
  • Contribute to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement.

Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Nuclear Medicine Radiologist at Virginia Mason Medical Center, you’ll be joining a collaborative team within an organization renowned for clinical excellence and innovation. We take great pride in our diagnostic radiology residency program, and are passionate about supporting the next generation of radiologists. A willingness to interpret studies in one or more additional modalities - especially ultrasound or body imaging - based on your own training and professional interests is required.

Every day you will engage in a team-based approach to provide comprehensive screening, diagnostic, and therapeutic services, participating actively in multidisciplinary conferences and tumor boards. You will work closely with medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, and pathologists, enhancing patient care through interdepartmental collaboration. Additionally you will leverage opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation through the Virginia Mason Production System, ensuring exceptional safety and patient experience.

To be successful in this role, you must be a board-certified or board-eligible Nuclear Medicine Radiologist with demonstrated expertise in cardiac, neurological, and skeletal imaging, utilizing both standard and hybrid techniques. You must also demonstrate a deep commitment to patient-centered care, resident education, and have the capacity to thrive within a collegial and supportive environment.

  • Full time (0.8 - 0.9 FTE) position, based at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA
  • No overnight in-house call requirement, occasional weekend call.
  • Potential for remote work one day per week if interpreting body imaging or ultrasound studies.

Job Requirements
  • Interpret studies in one or more additional modalities based on individual training and preference. Ultrasound or Body Imaging preferred
  • Clinical education and mentorship of diagnostic radiology residents
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • *Nuclear Medicine fellowship* or* Diagnostic Radiology/Nuclear Medicine* *residency* completed at an ACGME accredited facility
  • Board certification or board eligible in Nuclear Radiology from the American Board of Radiology
  • Active Washington State medical license, or eligible for licensure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
