Job summary

Hmixray in Newark, DE is seeking a Nuclear Medicine / PET Technologist to join our imaging team. You will perform high-quality nuclear medicine and PET/CT studies on patients, follow established protocols, and assist the radiologist in using radioisotopes to detect or treat disease while guiding patients through the exam.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, professional communication, and cooperative teamwork in a fast-paced setting; on-site training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• ARRT(N) and/or NMTCB certification required.
• State Nuclear Medicine license required.
• Venipuncture certification/permit required.
• BLS certification required; at least 1 year of diagnostic imaging experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform high quality nuclear medicine and PET/CT images on patients.
• Follow established nuclear medicine protocols and procedures.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals under radiologist direction.
• Guide patients through the exam and answer questions.
• Monitor patient well-being during exams and respond to concerns.
• Coordinate with physicians and staff to support patient care.

You Will:

• Perform high quality nuclear medicine and/or positron emission tomography/computed tomography images on patients while providing excellent care.
• Follow company established nuclear medicine protocols and procedures.
• Under the direction of the radiologist, administer radiopharmaceuticals to detect or treat diseases using radioisotopes.
• Guide patients through this sometimes-difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process.
• Monitor patients’ well- being during exams; recognize patient discomfort or medical problems and take appropriate action.
• Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patients.
• Demonstrates competency regarding the need to safeguard patient property and Patient Health Information.
• Safeguards any on site medications in accordance with Company policies, procedures and any legal requirements.
• Demonstrates respect for company property, including any cash and patient financial information on site or on patient portals.
• Is responsive to the needs of others by exhibiting and maintaining professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
• Demonstrates respect for patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during all interactions.

To Ensure Success In This Role, You Must Have:

• ARRT(N) and/or NMTCB certification
• State Nuclear Medicine License.
• Must have venipuncture certification/permit.
• Must have BLS certification
• At least one year of diagnostic imaging experience is preferred!
