Job summary

Saint Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to provide diagnostic imaging and radiopharmaceutical administration with a focus on patient safety and quality. You will perform Nuclear Medicine procedures, coordinate with Radiologists and Cardiologists, and ensure accurate documentation.

Candidates should have Nuclear Medicine Tech program, ARRT/NMT credentials, CPR, and at least one year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

  • Completion Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board approved Nuclear Medicine Technologist program and 1 year experience in a clinical setting.
  • AZ licensure as Nuclear Medical Technologist and CPR certification.
  • Credentialed as Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist or Registered Technologist Nuclear Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Nuclear Medicine procedures and administers radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Operates nuclear medicine equipment and ensures radiation safety.
  • Assists radiologists and cardiologists during procedures.
  • Completes hospital forms per protocol and documents results.
  • Conducts cardiac stress tests and EKGs when needed.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Nuclear Med Tech, you will be a specialized healthcare professional, vital in providing diagnostic and therapeutic services through the precise application of radionuclides.Every day, you will expertly perform Nuclear Medicine procedures, utilizing radionuclides to produce high-quality images and data for licensed practitioners. You'll ensure appropriate patient care, recognize conditions essential for successful procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate equipment, and adhere to strict radiation safety.To be successful in this role demands current certification, advanced technical expertise, and an exceptional eye for detail, coupled with a thorough understanding of radiation safety. Your compassionate patient care and dedication to precise imaging will be essential.

  • Performs exams based on patient anatomy and body habitus.
  • Assists Radiologists and Cardiologists in the performance of Nuclear Medicine Procedures.
  • Completes hospital forms per protocol.
  • Assists with cardiac exams to include the accurate performance of EKG's on the stress treadmill.
  • Performs Nuclear Medicine exams utilizing hospital equipment i.e. GE Hawkeye, Dual head gamma camera, GE Optima dual head dedicated cardiac gamma camera, GE single head gamma camera and Philips Skylight dual head gamma camera.
  • Demonstrates safe skill implementation and completes equipment/procedural change in-services and performs technical skills at a level consistent with or higher than level achieved during initial competency check-off.

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist, or
  • Registered Technologist Nuclear Medicine Technology
