Minimum Education, Experience and Training
- Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine training program.
- At least 2 years’ experience as a nuclear medicine technologist in a hospital setting.
- Complete all initial and ongoing training and competencies required by the service line, facility and department/unit.
Minimum Licenses, Certifications and Registrations
- One of the following: ARRT (R), ARRT (N), ARRT (T), or NMTCB.
- Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification from the Texas Department of Health.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or equivalent certification within 6 months of employment start date.
Responsibilities
- Supervise assigned personnel and plan and operate the section(s) effectively.
- Evaluate employee performance and take appropriate personnel actions. Motivate staff to achieve peak productivity and performance.
- Lead formal and informal meetings, foster open expression of ideas, and build teamwork during stressful phases.
- Maintain inventory and equipment service records; schedule preventive and emergency maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Communicate decisions that may impact other sections to managers and directors.
- Gather, analyze data, define problems, evaluate alternatives, and make decisions based on factual information.
- Use resources efficiently to maintain productivity standards set by the Department Director.
Additional Job Roles
- May have access to radiopharmaceuticals, contrast agents and other non‑controlled medications as appropriate for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Support the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System and demonstrate excellent customer service at all times.
- Adhere to the MHS Code of Conduct and report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws or the Code of Conduct.
- Comply with all safety policies, use appropriate safety equipment, and immediately report unsafe conditions.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
