Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Orlando, FL seeks a Nuclear Med PET CT Technologist (CASUAL/PRN) to perform Nuclear Medicine, Bone Densitometry, Radiography and imaging studies with emphasis on total patient care. Excellent communication with patients and staff is essential in a pediatric setting.

Schedule: 2 days per week (Monday & Wednesday); prior experience and ARRT(N) or CNMT certification preferred; Florida licensure and BLS required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• Completion of AMA Nuclear Medicine Technology Program required.
• Minimum of six (6) months experience required.
• ARRT (N) or CNMT certified required.
• Florida State licensure for Nuclear Medicine technology required.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform Nuclear Medicine, PET, Bone Densitometry, Radiography procedures.
• Ensure accurate patient identification, PACS interaction and documentation.

Nemours is seeking a Nuclear Med PET CT Technologist (CASUAL/PRN), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida.

Work Schedule - 2 days per week, Monday & Wednesday

Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children's Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Perform Nuclear Medicine, Bone Densitometry, Radiography and imaging studies while providing a quality health care service that includes total patient care in a comfortable, friendly environment. Excellent communication skills are essential to this position due to required continuous interaction with public and professional, medical personnel.

Responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for quality assessment and improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with Nemours goals.

1. Responsible for AIDET interactions and provides accurate preparation instructions to patient / family with the ability to answer pertinent procedural questions.
2. Knowledge of Nuclear Medicine, PET, Bone Densitometry, Radiation Safety and working knowledge of all Nuclear Medicine equipment.
3. Ensures proper function of equipment by proper usage and maintenance. Reports unsafe conditions and incidents.
4. Responsible for patient identification, proper identification of all images, PACS interaction and documentation.
5. Provides accurate room preparation and instructions to patient / family according to the procedure and physically prepares patient for examination which includes explaining the imaging procedure and answers pertinent procedural questions.
6. Maintains work habits consistent with hospital and department policies, reports unsafe conditions and incidents to the immediate supervisor and demonstrates safe work habits. Operates hospital computer systems for patient data entry and retrieval / order entry and completion of study.
7. Requires the utilization of appropriate techniques, radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications as part of a standard protocol to ensure quality diagnostic images and/or laboratory results. Adjunctive medications are defined as those medications used to evoke a specific physiological or biochemical response. Also included are the preparation and administration of oral and IV contrast used in the performance of imaging studies.
8. Performs Nuclear Medicine, Bone Densitometry, Radiography procedures and related techniques, producing data at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner.
9. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care, as attached to the annual performance appraisal document, with respect to the appropriate specific chronological age, developmental age or social maturity of the patient.

12. Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, must have reliable transportation and must be able to work on - call basis.
13. Good Communication skills are required. In addition to accepting feedback, asking questions and active communication with counterparts and all departments.
