Trinity Health Oakland is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Coordinator to lead the Nuclear Medicine Department and oversee clinical operations. The role supports day-to-day imaging services, staff supervision, and educational program development to ensure high-quality patient care.

The coordinator collaborates with leadership to maintain efficient operations, promote safety, and optimize patient flow while mentoring staff and students.

Qualifications

• Accredited Nuclear Medicine Technologist program completion and NMTCB/ARRT registration.
• Associate’s degree in Nuclear Medicine required; bachelor’s preferred.
• Three+ years as staff technologist in imaging; NM experience preferred.
• ARRT or CNMT certification maintained with CE credits.

Responsibilities

• Ensure personal and coworker safety; report hazards to management.
• Assist management with interviewing, orientation, evaluation, and counseling of staff.
• Oversee day-to-day patient care and staffing for imaging procedures.
• Schedule, plan and assign duties; participate in staff meetings; ensure Radiation Safety compliance.
• Perform routine and complex imaging procedures; monitor equipment and patient care.
• Maintain inventory, recommend equipment purchases, ensure maintenance.
• Instruct students and new staff; protect patient information and confidentiality.

Position Purpose:

The Coordinator, Nuclear Medicine Clinical Operations & Team Lead Nuclear Medicine & PET-CT performs the duties of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist and is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operation of the Nuclear Medicine Department, locally or system-wide. This role works closely with Administrative and Physician leadership to maintain efficient and effective operations, ensure quality, and promote change. Thecoordinatoralso assists with the development and maintenance of educational programs for the Nuclear Medicine staff, provides supervision and direction to the staff, and interacts and works collaboratively with other departments. Thecoordinatoris patient-focused, seeking to provide an excellent patient experience.

What you will do as a Nuclear Medicine Coordinator:

• Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of coworkers, and to report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management.
• Assistdepartment management in interviewing, selecting, orienting, evaluating, training, and counseling Nuclear Medicine Technologists.
• Oversee day-to-day patient care activities, ensuring adequate staffing and quality of diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Schedule, plan, and assign duties to staff, participate in staff meetings, and ensure compliance with Radiation Safety Policy.
• Perform routine and complex diagnostic imaging procedures, monitor equipment, and ensure proper treatment of patients.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, recommend equipment purchases, and ensure proper maintenance.
• Instruct students and new staff members, serve as a resource to Nuclear Medicine Technologists, and maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technologist program and registered as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Associate’s degree in applied sciencein Nuclear Medicinerequired, bachelor’s degreepreferred.
• Three or more years of experience as a staff technologist in specific imaging modality.
• Twoyears’NM experience preferred.
• Three to five years of supervisory experience ina Radiology imaging modality preferred.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologists (CNMT).
• Mustmaintain continuing education credits per biennium to retain registry status in compliance with the CE requirements of their certifying organization for the imaging modality in which they perform services.
• NMTCB PET preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certification or re-certification inCardiopulmonaryResuscitation (CPR) within three months of hire.
