Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory seeks an R&D Engineer for the Weapons Test Execution group to lead various testing activities that ensure the efficacy of systems and subsystems designed for nuclear security.

The successful candidate will coordinate testing efforts, prepare schedules and budgets, and interact closely with internal and external stakeholders. This position requires relevant experience in nuclear materials science and the ability to manage interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Experience communicating effectively with customers in project updates.
• Experience authoring and publishing formal test related documents.
• Ability to explain technical ideas to employees of all levels.
• Demonstrated experience in test execution.
• Ability to manage technical details across STEM fields.

Responsibilities

• Conduct system level testing including experimental design.
• Prepare schedule and budget estimates for new work.
• Coordinate efforts of service providers across the laboratory.
• Assist in test execution and reporting.
• Provide technical leadership to other test leads.
