Job summary

Standard Nuclear, Inc. in Idaho Falls, ID, seeks an NMC&A Specialist to ensure secure management, accurate tracking, and regulatory compliance of all nuclear materials within our production facility.

You will develop accounting and inventory systems, support inspections and audits, and work with security and operations to safeguard materials with a strong emphasis on accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in nuclear material control and accountability, safeguards, nuclear operations, or a regulated technical environment
• Experience with nuclear material inventory systems, material balance areas, item control, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting
• Familiarity with NRC, DOE, or other nuclear safeguards and material accountability requirements
• Experience working with uranium, nuclear fuel, radioactive materials, or controlled nuclear material preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain real-time records of all nuclear materials and reconcile with accounting systems
• Conduct regular physical inventories and ensure accuracy against records
• Implement and oversee tamper-indicating devices, seals, and barriers for storage and transport
• Prepare and submit reports to DOE, NRC, IAEA, and other authorities
• Support regulatory inspections, audits, and performance reviews
• Collaborate with security, engineering, manufacturing, and QA teams to integrate MC&A controls
• Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions
