Mercor is assembling a panel of nuclear materials and safeguards experts to red-team frontier AI models. You will write prompts across benign, dual-use, and adversarial levels and evaluate responses against a policy standard.

This is a writing-intensive role requiring clear, well-reasoned analyses. You will craft reference answers with technical rationale for non-specialists and contribute to material-signature methodologies.

Qualifications

• Nuclear forensics casework or international exercise participation — sample characterisation and attribution
• Radiochemical and mass-spectrometric analysis — isotopics, age dating, impurity and process signatures
• Detection and interdiction technology — portal monitors, handheld identification, search operations
• Material signature libraries, reference materials and attribution methodology
• Pre- or post-detonation forensics research at a national laboratory or agency

Responsibilities

• Write challenging prompts across three levels: benign, dual-use, and adversarial
• Evaluate model responses against a defined policy standard
• Write the reference answer — the correct response and the technical reasoning
• Provide written rationales that are clear to non-specialists
