Job summary

PPL Corporation's R&D Department seeks a nuclear engineering intern to start January 2027. Interns focus on renewable energy, storage, and decarbonization technologies, with potential transition to full-time

Ideal candidates are based in PA, RI, or KY, with on-site work during the summer and travel to multiple locations across PPL including Providence, Allentown, and Louisville. Travel expenses are covered.

Qualifications

• Part-time during the semester; full-time during the summer.
• GPA 3.50 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Plans and controls all activities to provide a safe, accident-free workplace.
• Uses engineering and scientific principles to plan projects, collect and analyze data, and create professional reports.
• Gathers, correlates, and analyzes data using established procedures.
• Coordinates and communicates results and participation in research projects within applicable business units and prepares summaries of value and results to management.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and/or suggests improved methods.
• Performs detailed engineering assignments involving established calculations, tests and analysis.
• Performs other duties as directed by management.

Education

ABET-accredited Nuclear Engineering program (Bachelor's or Master’s)
