Job summary

SPA in Arlington, VA seeks a Nuclear Acquisition Analyst to support oversight of nuclear modernization programs. You will work with DASW(SSIPM) and SD C Directorate and contribute to decision-ready materials for senior leaders.

Required is 7+ years in defense acquisition, an active TS/SCI clearance, and a master's degree, with DAWIA/DAU PM certification preferred. Onsite work may be required to support government customers.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in defense acquisition or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with the Defense Acquisition System.
  • 5+ years of experience with nuclear weapons and weapon systems at the operational/programmatic level.
  • Understanding of DODI 5000.02 and DoW acquisition processes.
  • Master's degree required.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Willingness for occasional travel (<10%).
  • DAWIA or DAU PM certification.
  • Able to work fully onsite based on client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support OSW oversight of Nuclear Triad modernization and portfolio management.
  • Develop decision-ready materials for senior leaders and DoW forums.
  • Support development, production, and fielding oversight to warfighter.

The Joint, Office of the Secretary of War, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of War, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of War (DoW). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(RE)), Office of the UnderSecretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSW(AS)), DARPA, the Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

We have a future need for a Nuclear Acquisition Analyst to provide onsite support in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

SPA is seeking an experienced Nuclear Acquisition Analyst to support OSW oversight of the Nuclear Triad sustainment and modernization, with a primary focus on nuclear modernization programs in any legs of the nuclear Triad. Will provide support to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Strategic, Space, and Intelligence Portfolio Management (DASW(SSIPM)) in the Strategic Deterrence and Capabilities (SDC) Directorate. Will also support DASW(SSIPM)s participation in the Nuclear Weapons Council and other DoW nuclear-related forums and will develop decision-ready material for senior leaders and apply the initiative to navigate headquarters and acquisition processes to support the DASD portfolio management responsibilities. The Nuclear Acquisition Analyst will support portfolio management and oversight of systems through development, production, and fielding to the warfighter.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 7+ years of experience
  • 5+ years of experience with the Defense Acquisition System
  • 5+ years of experience with nuclear weapons and weapon systems at the operational and programmatic level

  • DAWIA or DAU PM certification

  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • Experience supporting the Sentinel, LRSO, or ALCM programs
  • Special Access Program eligibility
