Job summary

NTB / Mavis Tires & Brakes in the Chesapeake, VA area is seeking full-time Automotive Mechanics / Certified Safety Inspectors. You will conduct state inspections and perform undercar repairs, oil changes, tire work, and other maintenance tasks with a guaranteed hourly rate plus commissions.

Ideal candidates are comfortable in a fast-paced shop, value training, teamwork, reliability, and meeting customer delivery times.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Possess a valid Virginia driver's license and a Virginia Safety Inspector license.
• Minimum of one year of experience as an automotive mechanic or completion of a state-approved training program.

Responsibilities

• Perform state-mmandated vehicle inspections and undercar repairs.
• Service brakes, struts and shocks; change oil and filters; check fluids.
• Dismount, mount, rotate and balance tires; ensure quality service.
• Meet customer promised delivery times and uphold safety standards.

NTB / Mavis Tires & Brakes - Automotive Mechanic / Certified Safety Inspector ($10 Commission per State Inspection)

We're looking for full-time Automotive Mechanics / Certified Safety Inspectors to join Team Mavis TODAY at our automotive service and tire sales centers in the Chesapeake, VA area.

Automotive Mechanics / Certified Safety Inspectors receive guaranteed base compensation PLUS weekly bonus payments, including a $10 commission for every state inspection!

As an active role, Automotive Mechanics / Certified Safety Inspectors are required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repetitive and consistent movements in line with vehicle maintenance and repair. Automotive Mechanics / Certified Safety Inspectors must regularly lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds.

To be eligible for the Automotive Mechanic / State Certified Inspector position, you must:

• be at least 18 years of age;
• be legally authorized to work in the United States;
• possess a valid Virginia driver's license;
• hold a valid Virginia Motor Vehicle Safety Inspector license; and,
• have a minimum of one (1) year of experience as an automotive mechanic and/or proof of your satisfactory completion of a training program in the field of automotive mechanics approved by the Superintendent of State Police.
