Job summary

Teradyne in Agoura Hills, CA, is seeking an NPI Test Process Development Engineer to shape test strategies across modules and full systems. You will lead NPI test development and ensure readiness for pilot and high‑volume production, performing hands‑on testing, debugging, and automation development.

The role emphasizes data‑driven test health, RCCA, and collaboration with Design, Software, and Manufacturing teams, with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in NPI/test development or related roles.
  • Exposure to Digital, Analog, RF, and/or DC test platforms.
  • Basic scripting or automation experience (Python, LabVIEW, C#, or similar).
  • Familiarity with data analytics concepts (SPC, Cpk, SQL, dashboards).
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10–25%).

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive test strategies spanning module, sub‑assembly, and full system‑level testing.
  • Lead NPI test development and ensure manufacturing readiness through pilot and high‑volume production transitions.
  • Perform hands‑on functional testing, system bring‑up, integration, and hardware debugging.
  • Develop, maintain, and scale test fixtures, interfaces, and automation solutions.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Design, Software, Manufacturing, Operations, and CMs to deploy robust test processes.
  • Support manufacturing ramps through documentation, training, and on‑floor support.
  • Apply data‑driven methods to monitor and improve test health and coverage.
  • Lead failure analysis and RC, using structured problem‑solving techniques.
  • Advance test automation, tools, and AI‑enabled capabilities.
  • Apply DfX principles throughout the product lifecycle with increasing ownership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive test strategies spanning module, sub‑assembly, and full system‑level testing
  • Lead NPI test development and ensure manufacturing readiness through pilot and high‑volume production transitions
  • Perform hands‑on functional testing, system bring‑up, integration, and deep technical hardware debug
  • Develop, maintain, and scale test fixtures, interfaces, hardware tooling, and automation solutions
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Design, Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Contract Manufacturing teams to deploy robust test processes
  • Support manufacturing ramps through documentation, training, and hands‑on build/floor support
  • Apply data‑driven methods to monitor, analyze, and improve test health and coverage
  • Lead failure analysis (FA) and root cause / corrective action (RCCA) using structured problem‑solving techniques
  • Advance test automation, tools, and data/AI‑enabled capabilities
  • Apply DfX principles throughout the product lifecycle, with increasing technical ownership and responsibility as experience and program scope expand

All About You

As an NPI Process Development Engineer, you will play a key role in enabling test and manufacturing readiness for new products from concept to Volume Manufacturing.

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, including academic projects, internships, or co‑op programs
  • Exposure to Digital, Analog, RF, and/or DC test platforms
  • Basic scripting or automation experience (Python, LabVIEW, C#, or similar)
  • Awareness of data analytics concepts (SPC, Cpk, SQL, dashboards)
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross‑functional team environment
  • Strong desire to learn, grow, and take on increasing technical responsibility
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to pilot lines and manufacturing sites (~10–25%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering module or system test into pilot or production
  • Familiarity with Teradyne test platforms (e.g., UltraFLEX, Magnum)
  • Experience applying AI/ML tools in test or manufacturing environments
  • Participation in NPI, manufacturing readiness, or production ramp programs

CompensationThe base salary range for this role is $76,600-$189,500. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan:This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
