Job summary

ZEISS is seeking a NPI / Project Buyer to lead procurement activities for new product introductions and cross-functional projects from concept through production release. You will work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, Finance, and suppliers to ensure supplier, material, cost, and sourcing readiness, mitigating risks that could affect launch or schedule.

Qualifications

• Typically 5+ years of procurement and sourcing experience.
• Experience with NPI projects in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with engineering BOMs, ECOs, and prototype-to-production transitions.
• ERP/MRP experience, preferably SAP.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement for assigned NPI and product-development projects from concept to production readiness.
• Represent Procurement within cross-functional project teams and align purchasing deliverables with the project plan.
• Drive sourcing and material readiness against NPI milestones and production launch requirements.
• Maintain visibility of procurement status, risks, and critical-path items.
• Coordinate supplier readiness for prototypes, pilot builds, qualification and ramp to production.
