Job summary

ResMed is seeking a senior Manufacturing leader to guide the NPI Manufacturing team in developing and validating high‑volume processes. You will drive capability building, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead cross‑functional efforts with Product Development to deliver robust, manufacturable products.

The role requires extensive experience in regulated environments, Lean and Six‑Sigma, and strong people leadership.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or Business Management with 8+ years in manufacturing, including engineering leadership.
  • Experience in regulated, high-volume manufacturing with GMP, Lean, Six-Sigma and 5S.
  • Knowledge of process qualification, validation, SPC and quality systems.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop capabilities in NPI Manufacturing and ensure compliant, validated processes.
  • Develop, improve and document manufacturing processes; train on new equipment and procedures.
  • Identify quality and efficiency improvements, including GMP, Lean, Six-Sigma actions.
  • Budget and manage resources for new process development across motor platforms.
  • Direct engineering resources for new process development and introduction.
  • Coach team members, contribute to performance evaluations, and support pay decisions.

Job description

Responsibilities
Direct Team
  • Lead and develop capabilities in NPI Manufacturing.
  • Lead the team in the following areas:
    • Develop, innovate, and improve manufacturing processes and ensure they are validated and compliant with regulatory and GMP requirements, meeting production volumes.
    • Resolve technical issues and focus on OH&S guidelines.
    • Introduce and maintain production procedures, providing training on new equipment, processes, and procedures.
    • Complete process validation activities and documentation.
    • Identify and implement quality and efficiency measures, including GMP, Six‑Sigma, and Lean improvement actions.
  • Budget for and manage resources required to support new process development and introduction activities across motor platforms.
  • Develop and direct engineering resources allocated to new process development and introduction.
  • Coach team members on performance, provide inputs for performance evaluations, and may be involved in pay actions.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Represent Manufacturing while working closely with Product Development to ensure robust, manufacturable products.
  • Frequent interactions with subordinates, stakeholders, and functional peer group managers, typically involving matters between functional areas or other company divisions or units.
  • Lead a cooperative effort among project team members.
Strategic Leadership
  • Focus on the development and implementation of strategic and operational objectives that help achieve the organizational mission.
  • Implement organization strategies through the effective direction and management of employees and resources.
  • Ensure appropriate measures are in place to protect intellectual property and ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory, and other business systems.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Strong leadership and people development skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present in large groups.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to align on strategy and desired outcomes.
  • Keen business acumen.
  • Align team planning and decision‑making with company goals.
  • Manage personal development, scheduling, costing, and design performance of the team.
  • Ability to negotiate competing project and company requirements, aligning team planning and decision‑making with the broader organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Degree in a relevant discipline such as Engineering or Business Management.
  • At least 8 years of relevant manufacturing experience, including experience in a similarly regulated industry.
  • Experience leading engineering teams.
  • Knowledge and experience of relevant business management systems (Microsoft and other software systems, GMP, Lean, 5S, and Six‑Sigma methodologies).
  • Experience in high‑volume manufacturing.
  • Experience with process qualification and validation within a regulated Quality System environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of SPC and related statistical techniques.
Preferred Skills
  • Engineering degree with a post‑graduate qualification.
  • Medical device industry experience.
  • Training in project management, experimental methodology, Six‑Sigma, DFSS, or other related engineering topics.
  • Experience with continuous improvement, maintaining configuration control, line balancing, and Kanban practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment for high‑volume production of discrete products.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and/or education may be considered.
Benefits and Compensation

Employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, vision, dental, and life, AD&D, short‑term and long‑term disability insurance, sleep care management, Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), commuter benefits, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and tuition assistance. Employees accrue three weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO) in their first year, receive 11 paid holidays plus 3 floating days, and are eligible for 14 weeks of primary caregiver or two weeks of secondary caregiver leave when welcoming new family members. Individual pay decisions are based on geographic location, qualifications, work experience, and skills. This role is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company, business unit, and/or individual performance. Base pay ranges from $110,000 to $166,000.
