Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking an Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our expanding Inpatient Neurology team at the Newark, Delaware campus. The neurology providers collaborate with neurohospitalists, vascular neurologists and subspecialists to care for stroke and other neurologic patients.

• BLS and ACLS certification preferred.

ChristianaCare is seeking an Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our expanding Inpatient Neurology team! Our exceptional and diverse team works together to care for patients within the hospital with a variety of neurologic diseases.

Our primary Stroke service is located in our award-winning Comprehensive Stroke Certified hospital on the Newark, DE campus of our hospital system. Additionally, our neurology consultative service cares for patients within hospitals at both our Newark and Wilmington Campuses.

The Neurology providers work together with a multidisciplinary team including Neurohospitalists, Vascular Neurologists, NeuroInterventionalists, NeuroIntensivists, and a variety of outpatient sub-specialty Neurologists to care for a variety of patients including those with acute ischemic stroke, neuro-immunologic disease, seizure/epilepsy, encephalopathy, migraine, neuromuscular disease, and other neurologic conditions.

The ideal candidate for this position is comfortable working independently, while in collaboration with the Neurohospitalist or Vascular Neurologist, to perform direct medical management of Neurology patients while utilizing approved protocols, procedures, and expert consultation after a well-rounded and comprehensive orientation. Qualified candidates will have prior Neurology experience; though we have experience with onboarding new providers and welcome new graduates to apply.

Full-time position. 80 hours per 2 weeks, 10–12-hour shifts. Weekend and holiday requirements; currently every 4th weekend and 2 holiday shifts per year. Individualized orientation.

Position Qualifications

Annual Compensation Range

#LI-YM1 Annual Compensation Range $117,970.00 - $148,885.00 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
