Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our outpatient care teams. The role supports collaboration with residents, fellows, attendings, and nurses in planning and delivering medical care across patient populations.

Qualified candidates will hold an APRN license (or PA credential) in the practicing state, with supporting BCLS/ACLS certifications and prescriptive authority eligibility. A flexible schedule and travel between facilities may be required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nursing required for NP.
  • Bachelor's or master's in PA medicine or health sciences for PA.
  • APRN or PA license in the state of practice required; BCLS/ACLS certifications; prescriptive authority eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the approved medical practices process in the delivery of patient care.
  • Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety criteria for patients served.
  • Maintains an attitude of inquiry towards medical practices and patient care outcomes; may develop research methodology.
  • Provides education experiences to patient families, staff, other health professionals, and the community.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including privacy, introduction, and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
