Job summary

CHRISTUS Ochsner Health in Lake Charles, LA, seeks an experienced NP/PA for Cardiovascular Surgery to join a dedicated team. You will assist in CABG/valve procedures, conduct rounds and clinics, and participate in 24/7 call coverage, with training provided for invasive procedures.

The role requires 5+ years in cardiac surgery, active LA license (or eligibility), BLS/ACLS, and experience with robotic-assisted surgery. Competitive compensation and benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Active Louisiana PA license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Minimum 5 years of cardiac surgical experience.
• Hospital and ambulatory experience preferred.
• Experience with robotic surgery is a plus; training will be provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries including CABG/valve procedures.
• Conduct in-patient rounding, outpatient visits, and admissions assessments.
• Participate in shared call (1 in 3) and 24/7 coverage rotations.
• Perform history and physicals, diagnose and manage conditions, and provide follow-up care.
• Perform invasive procedures (training provided): central venous access, Swan-Ganz insertion, chest tube insertion, and endoscopic vessel harvesting.
