Job summary

BrightSpring Health Services, in partnership with Adoration Health, seeks a Nurse Practitioner in Birmingham, AL for part-time home hospice care. The NP will perform assessments, manage symptoms, and ensure care aligns with patient goals in a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Ideal candidates hold an NP credential, a Master's in nursing, and current licensure with CPR and DEA where applicable, with strong communication skills and dedication to end-of-life care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and NP program.
• Master's degree with at least one year NP experience.
• Current nursing license in state of practice.
• Nurse Practitioner Certification in Gerontology, Adult, or Family preferred.
• Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate medical care and symptom management.
• Perform assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop care plans.
• Prescribe medications and coordinate hospice services.
• Conduct face-to-face visits for eligibility and recertification.
• Collaborate with physicians and IDT to align care with patient goals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Educate patients and families on medical and end-of-life needs.
• Contribute to quality improvement and professional development.

As a Nurse Practitioner You will:

• Provide compassionate medical care and symptom management

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner program
• Master's degree with a minimum of one year NP experience
• One year of NP experience or one year of RN hospice experience
• Minimum of one (1) year hospice or palliative care experience preferred
• Current nursing license in the state of practice
• Current DEA license (if applicable to state regulations)
• Current CPR certification
• Certification from an approved advanced practice nursing certifying body, as required by the state
• Nurse Practitioner Certification in Gerontology, Adult, or Family (preferred)
• Excellent observation, verbal, and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and mathematical skills
• Proficient in nursing skills as outlined in the competency checklist
• Demonstrated ability to counsel and communicate effectively with patients and families regarding end-of-life issues
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order
