Our client is hiring experienced Autonomous Vehicle Shift Supervisors in Houston, TX.
This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity for professionals who already have autonomous vehicle operations experience and are ready to take the next step in their career.
As a Shift Supervisor, you will lead and support a team of Vehicle Operators while working alongside them during daily autonomous vehicle operations. You’ll help ensure safety procedures, operational standards, software and hardware testing, and team performance expectations are consistently met.
This position requires previous autonomous vehicle experience.

Candidates must be able to commit to their assigned schedule.
Lead and support a team of Autonomous Vehicle Operators during daily operations.
Promote a strong safety-first culture and open communication.
Work alongside Vehicle Operators as a hands‑on leader and player‑coach.
Ensure operational procedures, testing requirements, and safety standards are followed.
Support the execution of autonomous vehicle software and hardware testing.
Coordinate daily team activities, scheduling, and shift validation.
Provide regular written and verbal performance feedback.
Mentor, motivate, and guide team members.
Help identify and resolve operational issues and improve efficiency.
Develop expertise in proprietary autonomous vehicle software and operating systems.
Communicate technical and operational issues clearly to team members and management.
Serve as a point of contact for contractors and help ensure assigned responsibilities are completed.
Support operational missions both inside and outside of vehicles.
Perform additional operational and leadership responsibilities as needed.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
12+ months of Autonomous Vehicle Operator experience
Active AVT permit
Excellent driving history
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency
Proactive, dependable, and resourceful approach to work
Ability to lead by example in a safety‑focused environment
Comfortable working with vehicle technology, software, and operational systems
The following experience is a plus:
2+ years of autonomous vehicle industry or operations experience
Previous experience as an AV Instructor, Lead, Supervisor, or Manager
Experience leading or managing cross‑functional teams
Previous leadership experience within Vehicle Operations
Candidates selected for this position must be available for approximately one month of travel for training.
Training may take place in San Francisco, Austin, Las Vegas, or another designated training location.
$36.00 per hour
