Job summary

AMG Tech Support is seeking hands-on I.T./Telecom technicians to support our national client base. This role involves OS installations, diagnostics, and structured cabling across diverse job sites, not just desk work.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of IT/Telecom experience and certification options (A+ or Network+), or 5+ years of field experience. A reliable personal vehicle and tools are required, and travel/pay is included.

Qualifications

• A+ or Network+ Certification or 5+ years field experience in IT/Telecom.
• Must have reliable personal vehicle and tools for basic IT and networking tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform OS installations, hardware diagnostics, and software setup.
• Structured cabling (drilling, running, dressing cables).
• Telecom work (punch-downs, demarc extensions).
• Work independently across environments: retail, medical, restaurant, and corporate.
• Be on call and respond to service requests within your territory.

This role goes far beyond basic helpdesk tasks — one day you might be installing an operating system, the next you're drilling through walls and running structured cabling across entire buildings, or terminating a 66-block.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of technical tasks including but not limited to:
  • OS installations, hardware diagnostics, and software setup
  • Structured cabling (including drilling, running, and dressing cables)
  • Telecom work (punch-downs, demarc extensions, etc.)
• Work independently across various environments: retail, medical, restaurant, and corporate
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism with clients
• Be on call and ready to respond to service requests within your territory

Preferred Skills & Experience

• PC and printer troubleshooting experience (a strong plus)
• At least 1 year of I.T. or Telecom experience, and one of the following:
  • A+ Certification
  • Network+ Certification
  • OR 5+ years verifiable field experience in I.T./Telecom

Required Equipment & Qualifications

• Reliable personal vehicle (Public transportation not accepted)
• Valid driver’s license
• Must have a standard set of tools for basic I.T. and networking tasks (e.g., screwdrivers, cable testers, crimpers).
• Laptop with Ethernet port
• Smartphone with mobile hotspot
• Ability to accept job assignments based on your availability; being on-call 24/7 is a strong advantage.
• Punctual, courteous, and presentable
