Job summary

Vital Medical Transport is hiring EMTs, Advanced EMTs, and Paramedics to join our growing team in Marshall County, Tennessee. You’ll respond to 911 calls, assess patients, and provide care per standing orders, while documenting care and coordinating with dispatch and receiving facilities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and possess a valid EMT licensure.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• PHTLS/ITLS or National Registry preferred; ACLS/PALS preferred for Paramedics.
• Strong communication and calm approach under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Answer and respond to 911 calls and navigate to the scene quickly.
• Respond to non-emergent and emergency medical calls for assistance.
• Perform scene size-up and assess safety hazards and patient needs.
• Assess patient condition and provide treatment per standing orders.
• Communicate with dispatch and facilities, provide updates.
• Create patient care reports and document care provided.
• Safely operate and transport patients by ambulance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Answer and respond to 911 emergency calls promptly, obtaining dispatch information and navigating safely and efficiently to the scene
• Respond to non-emergent and emergency medical calls for assistance
• Perform scene size-up on arrival, assessing safety hazards and patient needs before initiating care
• Assess each patient's condition and provide treatment that matches your certification level and our approved Standing Medical Orders
• Communicate with dispatch and receiving facilities, providing timely updates and patient information
• Create a patient care report and fully document the care provided
• Safely operate an ambulance and transport patients between facilities

Requirements:

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or GED
• Current state licensure as an EMT, Advanced EMT (A-EMT), or Paramedic
• Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record
• Current CPR Certification
• PHTLS, ITLS, or National Registry Certification a plus
• Paramedic candidates: ACLS and PALS Certification preferred
• Strong communication skills and a calm, compassionate approach under pressure

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Able to lift up to 250 pounds with a partner and assist with patient transfers throughout a shift
• Able to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods, in all weather conditions
• Comfortable working around blood or blood-borne pathogens with proper safety protocols
