Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Notebook Hardware Application Engineer in Santa Clara to support notebook feature development, build engineering documents, testing and debugging, and maintain strong customer relations.

You will work with cross-functional teams to drive notebook hardware design, perform hardware design reviews (schematic, PCB, PDN), install and bring-up customer notebook hardware, and help resolve complex issues with customers. Strong problem-solving and communication skills required.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in EE, CE or Systems Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5 years’ experience with notebook hardware and circuit design.
• Professional-level interpersonal skills; ability to tailor communication to the audience.
• Analytical thinking with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Extensive knowledge of notebook hardware, power, thermal and electrical systems.
• Ability of signal measurement and scope operations.
• Good knowledge of X86 System Architecture.
• Familiar with Linux would be advantageous.
• Strong communications skills.
• Innovative, results-oriented problem solver.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi-functional teams for notebook feature development and create guides and notes.
• Provide technical support during notebook development, testing, and production.
• Perform hardware design reviews including schematic, PCB and PDN to meet NVIDIA guidelines.
• Install, configure, debug and bring-up customer notebook hardware.
• Work directly with customers, analyze data, reproduce errors, resolve or escalate issues.
• Supervise, file new bugs and reproduce issues as needed.
