Job summary

Batteries Plus, LLC in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a customer-focused associate to help retail and commercial customers with batteries, light bulbs and accessory items. You will engage customers, answer questions, and use our POS to process transactions in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

This role requires excellent communication, the ability to learn products quickly, and a willingness to perform repairs and demonstrations as trained.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent with 6 months experience preferred.
• Retail experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to quickly learn products, processes, POS, and cross-reference systems.
• Strong listening and verbal communication with a customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Ask all the right questions to engage and consultatively sell batteries, light bulbs and accessory items to retail and commercial customers, both face-to-face and via phone.
• Utilize store resources and expertise to solve our customers' problems.
• Contribute as a Team Member to the overall success of the store, including suggesting additional items for customers.
• As trained, perform battery tests, installations, and battery pack rebuilds.
• As trained, perform repairs such as screen and battery replacements on smart phones and tablets.
• As trained, cut and program automotive key fobs.
• Cash handling, inventory control, store maintenance, and other miscellaneous duties such as stocking and loading as required for the success of the store.

What Will You Do?

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma/equivalent and 6 months prior work experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior retail experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to gain quick and solid understanding of company's products, processes, point of sale, and cross reference systems.
• Good listening and verbal communication skills with a customer focus.
• Must possess and use organizational and analytical problem solving skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks to effectively prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines with multiple tasks and projects.
• Ability to calculate simple math, percents, ratios and algebraic expressions and read gauges.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude and or technical experience desired.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record preferred.
