Job summary

Withum's Audit and Attest Engagement group seeks an Audit Supervisor within the Not-for-Profit industry, based in Massachusetts. You will lead audit engagements from planning through completion, supervise staff, and collaborate with partners and managers to deliver high-quality work for nonprofit clients.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in accounting or finance, CPA or CPA-eligible, with 3+ years of public accounting and nonprofit experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• CPA or CPA eligible.
• 3+ years of public accounting experience with leading engagements.
• Not-for-Profit auditing experience is desirable.
• Strong analytical and client service skills; GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team on planning and execution of audit engagements for Not-for-Profit clients.
• Oversee day-to-day operations including staffing, risk assessment, fieldwork and financial reporting.
• Supervise staff, and coordinate with managers and partners on issue resolution.
• Review schedules and GL accounts for accuracy and ensure timely delivery.
• Manage multiple engagements and budgets, promoting open communication and development.

Withum's Auditing and Attest Engagement services are the cornerstone of our firm. Withum's audit and advisory team possess the expertise necessary to give stakeholders confidence in financial information.This team provides audit services, Review and compilation services and other agreed upon audit procedures to a variety of client sizes and industries.

This Audit Supervisor role will work exclusively with Withum's Not-for-Profit Industry team and will be based out of one of our office locations. You'll be working with a team of renowned experts and thought leaders in the industry who are passionate about what they do! In this position, you will take a lead role on all aspects of audit engagements, from planning, execution to completion, to include supervision/mentoring of staff, working directly with partners and managers and building/maintaining relationships with clients.There are great leadership and advancement opportunities for this role in the Not-for-Profit Industry team. How You'll Spend Your Time:

• Leading the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to effectively and efficiently provide world-class client service to our clients in the Not-For-Profit industry

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and the conclusion

• Providing supervision and support to the engagement staff and promote open communication to the engagement manager and partner

• Collaborating with managers and partners on client issue resolution and make recommendations for any legal, regulatory and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagement

• Reviewing all schedule and non-scheduled general ledger accounts for accurate entries

• Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines

• Creating and tracking engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies that may arise during the audit

• Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly

• Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader

The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

• CPA or CPA eligible

• At least 3 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff

• Prior auditing experience with Not-For-Profit organizations desired

• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP due to the complexity of the engagements in this sector

• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships

• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment

• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client's management

• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovativeproblem-solvingskill

The compensation range for this position is $74,300 - $175,000 and varies by location for candidates residing in California, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington. For candidates residing in these states, salary will vary based on candidate's location. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
