Job summary

Withum is seeking an Audit Manager to lead Not-for-Profit engagements, overseeing planning, execution, and completion with supervision of staff and collaboration with partners. The role emphasizes client relationships, technical accuracy, and advancing Not-for-Profit industry expertise.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor's in Accounting and a CPA license, with 5+ years in public accounting and Not-for-Profit exposure preferred. Travel to client sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and CPA license are required.
  • At least 5 years of public accounting experience with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
  • Prior auditing experience with Not-for-Profit organizations is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP.
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects.
  • Strong leadership, training and mentoring skills, with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed based on client assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engagement team staff in planning and execution of audit, review or compilation engagements to deliver world-class client service.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and conclusion.
  • Provide supervision and support to engagement staff, seniors and supervisors and promote open communication with the engagement partner.
  • Collaborate with seniors, supervisors and partners on client issue resolution and advise on legal, regulatory and accounting issues.
  • Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines.
  • Create and track engagement budgets and discuss performance with team members.
  • Participate in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader.

Job Description

Withum's Auditing and Attest Engagement services are the cornerstone of our firm. Withum's audit and advisory team possess the expertise necessary to give stakeholders confidence in financial information. This team provides audit services, Review and compilation services and other agreed upon audit procedures to a variety of client sizes and industries.

This Audit Manager role will work exclusively with Withum's Not-for-Profit Industry team and can be based out of any of our office locations. You'll be with a team of renowned experts and thought leaders in the industry who are passionate about what they do! In this position, you will take a lead role on all aspects of audit engagements, from planning, execution to completion, to include supervision/mentoring of staff, working directly with partners and managers and building/maintaining relationships with clients. How You'll Spend Your Time
  • Leading the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to effectively and efficiently provide world-class client service to clients
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and the conclusion
  • Providing supervision and support to the engagement staff, seniors and supervisors and promote open communication to the engagement partner
  • Collaborating with engagement team seniors or supervisors and partners on client issue resolution and make recommendations for any legal, regulatory and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagement
  • Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines
  • Creating and tracking engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies that may arise during the audit and c onduct constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly
  • Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader

The compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $210,000 and varies by location for candidates residing in California, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington. For candidates residing in these states, salary will vary based on candidate's location. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
