Northwest YMCA is seeking a Massage Therapist to join our team. The role involves working with new and existing members to support health and well-being goals and to foster a welcoming environment for all backgrounds and abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; LMT certification and ASHI BLS required.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all backgrounds and abilities.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Talk with members about symptoms, medical history, and desired results.
• Guide members through service offerings and help them choose massages that benefit them.
• Evaluate members to locate painful or tense areas of the body.
• Design sessions around members’ specific complaints or problem areas.
• Manipulate muscles or other soft tissues of the body.
• Listen to members during massages and adjust technique to meet their needs.
• Provide guidance on stretching, strengthening, relaxation, and posture improvement.
• Suggest massage schedules for recurring sessions.
• Document member progress and maintain equipment.
• Follow YMCA policies; respond to emergencies and attend staff meetings.
