WestLand is seeking a full-time Archaeology Field Director to lead archaeological surveys, testing, monitoring, and data recovery across Washington, Oregon, and neighboring states. The role involves supervising field crews, handling artifact processing, and producing technical reports.

Based in Seattle, Spokane, WA or Portland, OR, the candidate will travel as needed, with per diem and hotel accommodations provided.

Qualificações

• Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field; or Bachelor's degree with substitution by additional experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in the Northwest.
• At least 1 year supervisory experience in the Northwest.
• Previous experience writing technical archaeological reports.
• Familiarity with WISAARD database and Washington state cultural resources regulations.
• Ability to conduct fieldwork for long hours in heat, rugged terrain, and changing weather.
• Willingness to travel out of town for work throughout the Northwest (per diem and hotel provided).
• Ability to work as a member of a cohesive team in a fast-paced, creative environment.

Responsabilidades

• Lead field work including survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery excavations.
• Supervise field crews in recording artifacts and features and map sites using Trimble GIS.
• Process and catalog artifacts to lab specs; file and scan records.
• Complete record searches and archival research.
• Write technical cultural resources reports.
• Coordinate logistics for out-of-town work and travel when required.
