Job summary

Fort Wayne Community Schools seeks a dedicated athletics coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves instructing and supervising all athletic practices and games while promoting high academic and athletic standards.

The ideal candidate has HS coaching experience and is prepared to work with a diverse student body. Candidate must have or obtain SPB/Minibus certification before the season and maintain positive relations with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.

Job description

This is for the 2026-2027 School Year

Pay for this position may be prorated based upon approved hire date.

Essential Functions

• Candidate must comply with IHSAA MSAC rules/ regulations and all FWCS policies including FWCS code of ethics.
• Prefer candidate with high school coaching experience.
• Must be willing and able to work effectively with students from multicultural backgrounds.
• Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to developing positive working relations with students parents teachers and administrators.
• Candidate will be responsible to instruct and supervise all athletic practices and games.
• Candidate must have the ability to maintain high expectations for students both academically and athletically.
• Candidate must have the ability to utilize organize and work with other head coaches and assistants.
• Candidate must have or be willing to get SPB/ Minibus certification before season.

Qualifications

Prefer candidate who will be teaching atNorthrop High School for the 2026-2027 school year. If applicant is a current FWCS teacher the teacher must fulfill their daily contracted hours before coaching. If not an FWCS teacher candidate must be available at 3:30 Monday through Friday afternoons.

Valid Driver's License required.
