CalTrout’s North Coast program seeks a Regional Manager in Arcata, CA to lead strategic planning, supervise staff, and build partnerships with Tribal Nations, agencies, landowners, and communities.

The role oversees grants and contracts, coordinates engineers and restoration teams, manages budgets and timelines, and ensures compliance on projects across the region.

This full-time exempt position reports to the North Coast Regional Director and blends office and field work including site visits.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Experience managing environmental conservation or restoration programs and supervising staff.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; ability to work with diverse partners.
• Experience with restoration design projects, grant writing, and compliance.
• Experience with restoration construction, bids, contractor oversight, and construction management.
• Experience managing state and federal grants, including budgets, invoicing, reporting, and compliance.
• Proficiency in project management software and ability to learn new platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of regulations, permits, and practices for salmon/steelhead habitat restoration in CA.
• Experience working with Tribal Nations, private landowners, and agricultural communities.
• Valid California driver’s license and safe driving record.

Aufgaben

• Lead regional and organization-wide strategic planning for North Coast conservation.
• Supervise North Coast staff to execute CalTrout’s Strategic Plan.
• Develop strategic partnerships with Tribal Nations, agencies, consultants, landowners, and communities.
• Oversee project management, grants, contracts, budgets, reports, and invoices.
• Coordinate engineers, consultants, and teams in restoration design, permitting, and monitoring.
• Ensure programs meet timelines, budgets, and performance standards.
• Oversee construction bidding, contractor selection, and construction management.
• Monitor progress, provide guidance to project managers and teams.
• Maintain regulatory compliance with CEQA/NEPA and related statutes.
