Job summary

Burnsville-Eagan-Savage District 191 is seeking a Head Coach for Nordic Ski at Burnsville High School. This 0.5 FTE position carries a Winter stipend of $3,000 and involves organizing the program, mentoring staff, and coordinating with the athletic department.

You will plan practices, manage budgets with boosters, oversee conditioning, and ensure compliance with MSHSL and district policies while promoting sportsmanship and student safety.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the sport and its rules.
• Familiarity with MSBA/MSHSL policies and ISD 191 rules.
• Ability to prioritize several tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to receive and act on feedback.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to student participation.
• Ability to perform essential coaching duties.

Responsibilities

• Oversee organization and administration of the athletic team.
• Assist director with hiring, development, and evaluation of assistants.
• Plan and supervise practices, games, and travel.
• Coordinate budget requests and fundraising with the booster club.
• Develop in-season and off-season conditioning programs.
• Schedule practices and games with coaches and offices.
• Model discipline and enforce penalties for violations.
• Perform other duties related to the program.
• Enforce MSHSL and ISD 191 rules in sport operations.
• Follow equipment orders and supply management policies.
• Maintain rosters and eligibility records with the Athletics Office.
• Document injuries and report to the trainer and office.
