Job summary

CHANDLER UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Noontime Aide to monitor and supervise students in the cafeteria and related areas during lunch periods. This 2-hour, part-time position supports school safety and student well-being while promoting positive behavior.

Responsibilities include maintaining surveillance, fostering good relations with students, and referring disciplinary matters as needed. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a willingness to work with children

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work with children at different age levels.
  • Some experience in rearing, supervising, or working with children.
  • Good human relations skills.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations, and rules.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain surveillance of the assigned area to assure safe and responsible conduct.
  • Foster and maintain effective relationships with students.
  • Monitor the activities of students at play or in the cafeteria.
  • Counsel and intervene to prevent unacceptable behavior.
  • Refer disciplinary cases to the appropriate authority.
  • Report unauthorized persons on school premises.
  • Notify the school health office in case of an accident.
  • Perform all duties safely and prudently as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.

Minimum entry: $16.53/hour

Calendar: Full time: 1801 PT/180 work days, 6 paid holidays, 186 total paid days

Benefits: PTO, holidays, wellness, professional growth credit

Performance Pay: Up to $600 Available annually, prorated based on FTE

New Hire Experience Credit: Starting hourly rate will be determined based on experience in a full time, paid job with like duties held in the previous 10 years. 1% per year starting in year 2, not to exceed the max hiring range of 5%

New Hire Education Credit: Associates degree or higher in a like field may be considered for a 1% increase, combined with experience not to exceed 5% in addition to starting hourly rate for position.
