The role offers the opportunity to work with mission-focused clients, handle IRS filings (Form 1023/990), and provide counsel on governance, UBTI, and tax matters, with a strong emphasis on confidentiality and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience with tax-exempt organizations.
• Experience in nonprofit governance and tax compliance.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on Section 501(c) status and compliance.
• Provide guidance on IRS filings, including Form 1023 and Form 990.
• Counsel on UBTI, private foundation rules, and intermediate sanctions.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and joint ventures.
• Assist clients in IRS audits and disputes.
• Advise boards on governance and fiduciary duties.
• Draft and review policies and agreements.
