Job summary

Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation (PBMR) in Chicago, IL seeks a Staff Accountant to support the Controller and finance team. You will manage payroll, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities for a non-profit organization.

Ideal candidate has 1–2 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business, strong Excel skills, GAAP knowledge, and a commitment to confidentiality and restorative justice values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business management required.
• 1–2 years of accounting software experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly payroll and maintain employee records.
• Post payroll deductions and employer contributions to General Ledger.
• Prepare accounts receivable invoices and monitor payments.
• Reconcile month-end balance sheet accounts and assist with audits.
• Maintain employee files and ensure W-2 access.
