The Mutual Group in the United States is seeking a Commercial Lines Nonprofit Underwriting Specialist to grow and manage a portfolio, advise peers, and set coverage and pricing levels for nonprofit human services and education organizations.
You will build strong agent relationships, handle renewals, and collaborate with risk control to ensure profitable, compliant outcomes while mentoring staff and supporting a high performing team. Hybrid work is available for local employees.
As a Commercial Lines Insurance Nonprofit Human Services Underwriting Specialist, you will be responsible for growing and managing a book of commercial lines business, including responsibility for advising other underwriters and support staff on processes and procedures and consulting at the highest level of technical underwriting authority. You will be analyzing and assessing exposures and acceptable risks for our Nonprofit Human Service Organizations and Education Institutions to determine coverages and premium that are both adequate and competitive. As a Nonprofit Human Services Underwriting Specialist you will build successful relationships with agents to drive increased, positive business flow. You will work under limited supervision and exercises significant independent judgement in performing work. Accounts vary in size, but may include accounts up to $1,000,000 in written premium.
Employees who live within 30 miles of the TMG home office are expected to follow a hybrid or in‑office schedule. The initial training period may require additional in‑office days.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $90,000 - $130,000 annual base salary depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location $99,000 - $140,000 annual base salary depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location in CA, CT, MA, NJ, NY, and PA
