Job summary

CLA Northeast’s Nonprofit team is hiring an Audit & Assurance Senior to join our nonprofit practice. This in-office role is based out of West Hartford, CT, Shelton, CT, Livingston, NJ, or Woodcliff Lake, NJ locations as part of CLA Northeast’s Nonprofit team.

You will execute and manage day-to-day audit engagements for nonprofit clients, including budget, planning, fieldwork, staff direction, and financial statement disclosures, while reviewing procedures and assessing internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Two or more years of public accounting experience with audits, reviews, and compilations is required.
• CPA eligibility preferred.
• Ability to travel to client sites with infrequent overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Executing and managing day-to-day activities of audit engagements for nonprofit clients from start to finish, including budget, planning, fieldwork, directing staff and preparing financial statements and disclosures.
• Reviewing client accounting and operating procedures.
• Developing and assessing internal controls design and implementation.
• Preparing financial statements and related disclosures and reportable condition letters.
• Communicating technical matters to staff, management, and clients clearly.

CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP is hiring an Audit & Assurance Senior to join CLA Northeast’s Nonprofit team. In this role, you’ll work with our nonprofit clients, a unique opportunity for you to gain specialized skillset in a niche area of expertise that will accelerate your career. This is an in-office position based out of either our West Hartford, CT, Shelton, CT, Livingston, NJ, or Woodcliff Lake, NJ office locations.

How you’ll create opportunities in this Audit Senior role:

• Executing and managing the day-to-day activities of audit engagements with our nonprofit clients from start to finish, including managing the budget, planning, fieldwork, directing staff and completing financial statements, including related disclosures
• Reviewing client accounting and operating procedures
• Developing and assessing the design and implementation of internal controls
• Preparing all necessary financial statement and related disclosures and reportable condition correspondence letters
• Utilizing proactive and effective communication with staff, management, and clients to communicate technical matters to both clients and management.

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• Current CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is preferred.
• Two or more years of public accounting experience with emphasis in financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilations is required.
• Prior experience with an established public accounting or professional services firm is preferred.lkli
• Ability to travel to client sites which may also require infrequent overnight travel.

Our approach to compensation emphasizes collaboration and career growth. We pay competitive wages and view compensation as an investment in our people. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range.

The compensation range for this position in New Jersey is: $89,000.00 – $141,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Connecticut is: $88,000.00 – $136,000.00
