Responsibilities

• Explains test procedures and gives instructions to patients.
• Attaches electrodes to specified body areas to leads on the electrocardiograph machine.
• Takes heart tracings on the machine and notifies physician if emergencies arise.
• Identifies abnormal heart rhythms on tracings and marks/pastes tracings for interpretation.
• Cleans and maintains equipment, monitors supplies, replaces defective stylus.
• Performs related clerical tasks and adheres to policies and customer service standards.

When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives.Under supervision, the Cardiovascular (CV) Technician operates equipment to measure and record heart action by monitoring and graphically tracing electrical activity occurring during the heartbeat.Job Description:Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:1) Obtains information for the electrocardiograph records, which include patient identification, history, and medication use.2) Escorts patient to the treatment room or wheels equipment to the patient’s bedside.3) Explains test procedures and gives instructions to patients.4) Attaches electrodes from specified body areas to leads from the electrocardiograph machine.5) Takes heart tracings machine. Recognizes emergencies and notifies physician if necessary.6) Identifies abnormal heart rhythms on tracings.7) Marks tracing paper to indicate electrode positions, pastes/labels tracings on mountings for physician’s interpretation.8) Cleans and maintains equipment, maintains supply levels and replaces defective stylus.9) Performs clerical tasks as needed.10) Incorporates Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles, Mission Statement and Goals into daily activities.11) Complies with all Lahey Clinic Policies.12) Complies with behavioral expectations of the department and Lahey Clinic.13) Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.14) Demonstrates an understanding of the job description, performance expectations and competency assessment.15) Demonstrates a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and consistently adheres to Customer Service standards.16) Participates in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.17) Participates in and successfully completes Mandatory Education.18) Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.Minimum Qualifications:Education: Requires high school diplomaLicensure, Certification, Registration:Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: In the absence of any of these skills, demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards.Experience: PreferredPay Range:$21.00 - $28.26The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
